Stations of the Cross is now in its 6th year of Exhibition. Last year 3,500 people soaked up the atmosphere of the Hamilton Paradise Gardens under moonlight and stars to commemorate the Easter festival. Unique to Hamilton in the outdoors, the Stations Collective invites artists to explore each event in the last hours of Jesus Christ’s death, from the last supper to the resurrection. The Stations will again this year be a range of reflective, static, moving and provocative art installations. New this April will be access to the Japanese Garden for an enlightening meditation, as well as an ANZAC tribute on the open green. Leafa Wilson, artist and curator of Waikato Musuem, is for the first time too, exhibiting a new work for the Resurrection. A meaningful experience for all people of Hamilton, art lovers, religious, spiritual … or not, is also guaranteed.
